Pastor Janet feels blessed to have had three chances to be in ministry at the UMC of Whitefish Bay! First, from 1978-79 she was a student pastor from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, then was appointed to the church from 2005-2007. Now, having retired from full time ministry, she is back on staff with primary responsibilities in the areas of older adult ministry, worship, and mission.
Pastor Janet graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism and has a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical. After seminary she worked for over 20 years in public relations and marketing for non-profit performing arts organizations in Milwaukee, including First Stage, the Milwaukee Ball and the Milwaukee Symphony, before becoming a pastor in 2005. In her younger days she frequently performed with community theater groups around Milwaukee.
Janet and her husband Mark were married in January, 1986. They have two adult sons, Andrew and Jonathan, and a beautiful 14-year-old rescue dog, Dixie. Her favorite scripture verses are Jeremiah 29:11 and Matthew 6:19-20. (The latter is especially helpful to remember as she is working on downsizing in the 100+ year old farmhouse she and Mark bought over 30 years ago!)
